Emily
McCallister
My name is Emily McCallister, and I’m an incoming Junior at Purdue University, and I’m majoring in Natural Resources & Environmental Science. I’ve had a big passion for environmental science since I was in the 7th grade. In my science class that year, we watched a documentary called 6 Degrees Could Change the World. I remember being horrified about the damage we can potentially cause on our planet. Ever since then, I’ve been motivated to have a career in this field and see if I can help in any way. I switched into Natural Resources & Environmental Science my second semester of my freshman year, and I’ve been trying to immerse myself into research. This past semester, I did plant pathology research for Dr. Morgan Furze, and I want to do more research and immerse myself outside! I’m excited to learn a lot more about forest ecology firsthand! Emily works in the lab of Dr. Jeffrey Dukes.
