Daniel Viete, assistant professor at John Hopkins University, will give a talk titled "A metamorphic record of deep earthquakes during subduction" at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017, in the Greenewalt Lecture Hall as part of DTM's Weekly Seminar Series.

Viete received his Ph.D. in metamorphic petrology, structural geology, and tectonics from The Australian National University in 2008. His research interests include metamorphic time scales and facies series, continental tectonics, and size effects in rock mechanics.

Coffee, tea, and a light breakfast will be served before the talk at 10:30 a.m.
