Deng

Xin Deng obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Science and Technology of China, where he focused on investigating subduction zone structures and lower mantle composition through first-principles calculations. During his postdoctoral fellowship at Carnegie, he is expanding his research to planetary evolution. In collaboration with Dr. Ronald Cohen, he is exploring redox reactions and element partitioning properties within magma oceans, using Density Functional Theory and machine learning techniques.
