Kannan
Dr. Veeraraghavan Kannan is a researcher specializing in thermal convection and fluid dynamics in geophysical and astrophysical systems. His work focuses on turbulent rotating convection—an essential process governing planetary atmospheres, planetary and stellar interiors, and Earth's climate dynamics. Through theoretical analysis and numerical modeling, he studies large-scale extreme phenomena to improve our understanding and predictive capabilities of these complex systems.
Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Göttingen, Germany. He earned his PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK.
