Dr. Gang Zhao is a visiting scholar in the Michalak Lab at Carnegie Science. Zhao's research focuses on understanding the water quality variability and its relationship with climate change, land use land cover change, and anthropogenic activities. He uses remote sensing techniques, large scaling modeling, and geostatistical methods to investigate water quality issues such as eutrophication, nutrients transport, water temperature, etc. His current research uses ocean color remote sensing and generalized additive model to assess the impacts of climate change on coastal chlorophyll-a dynamics.
