Seminar
Visiting Student Pietro Marconi
Pietro Marconi is a first-year master’s student in Atmosphere and Energy Engineering at Stanford University. His interests are renewable energy, carbon capture, and air quality, which motivated him to move to California from Italy 6 years ago. Pietro completed his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley, majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering. During his time there, he worked part-time at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory with Thomas Kirchstetter’s lab on analyzing the magnitude of localized pollution affected by heavy road-rail traffic in Richmond.
As a visiting student in the Department of Global Ecology at Carnegie Institution, he will join Lorenzo Rosa’s lab to analyze biomethane potential to offset natural gas supply and imports, and the carbon dioxide emission reduction that could be achieved by replacing natural gas with biomethane.
