Michael
Tauber
Prof. Michael J. Tauber is a physical chemist at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). His training and research as graduate student and post doctoral researcher included optical and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (e.g., resonance Raman, femtosecond transient absorption, EPR, ENDOR) for probing fundamentals of solvation, and charge-transport within organic molecular systems. At UCSD, Tauber and his group have conducted spectroscopic investigations to understand the photophysics of carotenoid aggregates, carotenoids in bird feathers, thiophene oligomers, among other systems. At Carnegie Science, Tauber collaborates primarily with EPL Staff Scientist Anne Pommier to probe earth and planetary samples in conjunction with high-pressure, high-temperature experiments.
