Fadum

Jemma Fadum is a limnologist and ecosystem ecologist interested in the interaction of local and global stressors on aquatic ecosystems. In particular, her research focuses on ecosystem level responses to alteration to inter and intra-annal biogeochemical fluxes. She is particularly interested in nitrogen dynamics in aquaculture impacted ecosystems and uses an array of tools ranging from meta-omics to remote sensing to assess spatial and temporal variation in ecosystem function. Jemma was raised by an avid fly fisherman who instilled in her a love of aquatic ecosystems. This led her to pursue a degree in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability and later a Ph.D. in Ecology at Colorado State University. In her dissertation research, Jemma focused on tropical lake biogeochemistry and conducted most of her field research in Lake Yojoa, Honduras. She now joins Emily Zakem’s lab as a postdoctoral fellow supported by the Simons Foundation.
