Matthews

Allison Matthews is a Carnegie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Carnegie Observatories.

Very broadly, her roots are in radio astronomy. She gets excited thinking about how this long wavelength emission complements our optical and infrared view of galaxies. Recently, she has been especially interested in using radio emission as a dust-unbiased tracer of star formation---both locally and across cosmic time. Locally, she uses radio emission to trace the path of cosmic rays in galaxies. Far away, she makes statistical models of faint populations of radio galaxies to constrain the cosmological evolution of galaxies.
