Hale Library
Located at the Santa Barbara Street office in Pasadena, the Hale Library supports ongoing research at Carnegie Observatories with a rich collection of astronomy and physics resources. More than just a library, it’s a collaborative space for informal meetings, rainy-day social hours, and once even hosted Albert Einstein during a 1931 scientific colloquium.
Earth & Planets Laboratory Library
Located in the Abelson Building in Washington, DC, the Earth & Planets Laboratory (EPL) Library supports cutting-edge research in the physical, earth, and space sciences. It holds over 10,000 technical books, maps, and reports, subscribes to 200+ journals and databases, and preserves more than a century of campus scientific archives. Carnegie personnel have 24/7 access; visiting researchers are welcome by appointment.
Carnegie Publications
Significant Carnegie Science publications, including the historical Carnegie Monograph Series, the full run of institutional year books, and past newsletters have been digitized and made available online.
