Hale Library

The Hale Library at the Santa Barbara Street office in Pasadena consists of a large astronomy and physics-related collection used to support the ongoing research at the Observatories. It is also a place of both casual fellowship and formal discussion – the central study room is currently an informal meeting area for research collaboration, the location of our weekly staff social hour on rainy days, and until the completion of our lecture hall in 1994 was the site of our scientific colloquia, which included Albert Einstein in 1931!
