Dr. Shi Chen is a Postdoctoral Fellow working with Ken Caldeira and Steven J. Davis. In confronting the critical issues of climate change and the drive towards net-zero emissions, her work is at the forefront of crafting innovative strategies for navigating the complexities of achieving a sustainable future. She employs a spatiotemporal framework, integrates extensive datasets with model development to capture region-specific and dynamic insights. Her research adeptly merges technological, economic, environmental, and variability considerations into a unified, multidisciplinary framework, dedicated to addressing the multifaceted issues at hand. Before joining Carnegie Science, Dr. Chen obtained her PhD in Environmental Engineering and engaged in postdoctoral research at Tsinghua University, China. Her passion lies in devising solutions to real-world challenges towards a net-zero emissions society. She has applied her expertise in the solar power sector, including contributions to entities in China, US, and Kenya.
