Drew
Honson
Drew Honson is a molecular biologist interested in how interspecies interactions influence gene regulation. His research uses genomics methods to measure how chromatin states change during symbiosis. During his undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota, Drew studied miRNA regulation of wound healing in axolotls in the lab of Karen Echeverri. Afterwards, he worked in the lab of Todd Macfarlan at the NIH in Bethesda, MD studying KRAB-ZFP control of genome stability during mammalian development. Drew's doctoral work in the lab of Mitch Guttman at Caltech focused on genomic and proteomic methods for characterizing RNA-protein interactions. He now joins the lab of Margaret McFall-Ngai as a postdoctoral fellow.
