Chenchen Ren is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Carnegie Institution for Science. Her research focuses on sustainable agricultural strategies to ensure food security while reducing environmental impacts. She examines agriculture from multiple perspectives, including climate change, crop diversity, farm size, and population aging. Chenchen earned her Ph.D. in Land Resource Management from Zhejiang University, where her dissertation explored the role of farm size in agricultural sustainability, particularly in the context of an aging population. Her postdoctoral research focuses on climate adaptation in agriculture, specifically the interactions between water and nitrogen management. Through her work, she aims to develop innovative adaptation strategies and climate resilience solutions to support global food security, especially in regions vulnerable to climate change. Beyond research, Chenchen enjoys staying active through body combat, hiking, yoga, and strength training.
