Drew Coleman, professor at the University of North Carolina, will present a lecture titled "Missed Connection: Ignimbrite seeking plutonic relationship" at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2017, in the Greenewalt Lecture Hall as part of DTM's seminar series.
Coleman received his Ph.D. from the University of Kansas in 1991. His research broadly focuses on understanding the rates of geologic processes to better understand mechanisms. Active research in the isotope lab centers on four areas:
- Subvolcanic magma accumulation rates and volcano-pluton connections
- Rates of zircon transport in the modern Amazon River
- Cretaceous time scale geochronology
- Forensic geology and geoarchaeology
Coffee, tea, and a light breakfast will be served before the lecture at 10:30 a.m.
