Andy Davis, a professor at the University of Chicago, will give a talk titled "Laboratory Astrophysics with CHILI" at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016, in the Greenewalt Lecture Hall as part of DTM's Weekly Seminar Series.

Davis received his Ph.D. in geochemistry from Yale University in 1977. He uses samples returned to Earth by spacecraft (cometary and interstellar dust; the solar wind) and by nature (meteorites and interplanetary dust particles) to study the earliest history of the solar system as well as the nucleosynthesis of most of the chemical elements in stars.

Coffee, tea, and a continental breakfast will be served before the lecture at 10:30 a.m.
