Overview

Supernovae provide unique insight to stellar evolution, chemical enrichment, and cosmology. In this talk I'll introduce the aspects of supernova science that I'm most interested in pursuing with the Vera C. Rubin Observatory and its Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST), which will begin operations in 2025. I'll cover the basics of the LSST survey strategy, data products, and timeline to the first data release. I will also provide an overview of the LSST user experience being developed - including research inclusion initiatives - and explore synergies with the Carnegie Observatories.
