Sachi Weerasooriya is a postdoctoral fellow at the Carnegie Observatories working with Andrew Benson.
Overview
Sachi works on modeling galaxies for future surveys, such as Roman, with a focus on accurate modeling of emission lines and calibrating models using the Semi-Analytic Model Galacticus. Her previous research includes modeling dwarf satellites of the Milky Way and Centaurus A using the Galacticus semi-analytic model. She is also interested in exploring the impact of major mergers on stellar streams and their properties. She is passionate about connecting science with art through science illustrations.
