Dwivedi

During his Ph.D. work at the High Energy Density instrument of the European X-ray Free Electron Laser facility (and the University of Hamburg) in Germany, Anand's work involved static and dynamic compression experiments, and experiments combining the two. He worked on the R&D project for the development of a high-pressure cell for performing laser-driven shock compression of statically pre-compressed samples at advanced X-ray facilities such as XFELs and synchrotrons.

At Carnegie, Anand will work with Dr. Sally Tracy on shock compression of carbon and iron compounds.
