Overview
The current field of exoplanet demographics is dominated by measuring and interpreting trends with stellar parameters as observed in the local stellar population with Kepler, K2, and TESS. I will talk through our progress towards a robust measurement for the frequency of Earth-like planets, and the implications for NASA’s next flagship mission, the Habitable Worlds Observatory, as well as highlighting some of the other significant stellar correlations that have been revealed. I will discuss the upcoming opportunities to expand our understanding from local stellar correlations to larger-scale Galactic correlations, discussing some of the Galactic processes that may influence planet formation, migration, and evolution.
