Mingyuan Xu is a Summer Research Fellow in Dr. Mengyi Cao’s lab at Carnegie Science, Division of Biosphere Sciences & Engineering. He recently graduated from Colorado College with a B.A. in Molecular Biology. His current work focuses on (1). Engineering Xenorhabdus symbiotic bacteria to perform RNA interference in Steinernema nematode host, and (2). Investigating the role of a bacterial fimbrial gene ymdA in the chemotaxis of Xenorhabdus griffiniae . Outside the lab, he enjoys collecting and studying mineral crystals.
