Lori
Willhite
Lori Willhite manages the Mass Spectrometry Lab at the Earth and Planets Laboratory to facilitate chemical and isotopic measurements of terrestrial and cosmochemical materials. Lori's expertise includes thermal ionization mass spectrometry (TIMS), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), and laser ablation and desorption techniques. In addition to maintenance of commercial instruments, Lori is interested in the development of novel instrumentation and analytical methods. She mentors lab users with an emphasis on laboratory hygiene, safety, and record-keeping.
Lori's research interests include applications of radiogenic siderophile and lithophile isotope systems to studies of the deep Earth, the mantle, and meteorites.
