Chandel
Aneesh Chandel is a postdoctoral researcher in the Dukes Lab at Carnegie Science. He earned his Ph.D. in Soil and Crop Sciences from Cornell University, where his research focused on improving the representation of soil moisture in ecosystem models by integrating hydraulic redistribution process and evaluating its impacts on carbon and water dynamics under varying climate conditions. He employs Bayesian inversion technique to optimize model parameterization and improve simulations of ecosystem processes, aiming to uncover the key mechanisms driving ecosystem function. His work leverages diverse data sources, including eddy covariance tower observations. Chandel also holds a master’s degree in biochar applications for wastewater contamination removal and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences. He is excited to continue advancing ecological understanding and tackling new scientific challenges as he embarks on this next chapter of his research career.
