Minkyung studies how novel materials can be designed to exhibit useful properties under extreme conditions. At Carnegie, she is developing an inverse-design framework that combines diffusion-based generative AI with experiments to accelerate the discovery of metastable materials that can be recovered under more accessible conditions. Her long-term goal is to develop new materials for sustainable energy technologies and environmental applications.
