Jack
Lubin
Jack Lubin hunts for planets around other stars by measuring the tiny wobble a planet’s gravity causes in its host star. He focuses on telling real planet signals apart from the “noise” a star’s own activity creates. He earned his PhD in physics from UC Irvine, where he worked on the TESS-Keck Survey and logged more than 50 nights observing with the 10-meter Keck telescopes, and he went on to a postdoctoral position at UCLA before joining the Carnegie Observatories as a postdoctoral fellow.
