Benjamin
Wibking
Benjamin Wibking builds computer simulations of how gas, radiation, and exploding stars interact inside galaxies. He co-developed Quokka, a simulation code designed to run on the same kind of graphics processors that power today’s fastest supercomputers. He earned his PhD in astronomy from Ohio State University. He went on to postdoctoral positions at the Australian National University’s Mount Stromlo Observatory and Michigan State University before joining the Carnegie Observatories as a postdoctoral fellow.
