The Carnegie Fund is the institution’s annual giving program, which is supported by Carnegie friends and alumni. Gifts to the Carnegie Fund are directed towards the most immediate needs of the institution, and provide the president with important flexibility to take advantage of unexpected opportunities. Examples include new instruments and equipment, computational resources, imaging systems, and other current-use needs. In general gifts to the Carnegie Fund greatly enhance the scientific research, staff resources, and our administration. Carnegie Fund gifts can be directed to Greatest Needs for maximum flexibility, or to a specific Carnegie department. Carnegie departments include Embryology, the Geophysical Lab, Global Ecology, Plant Biology, the Observatories, and Terrestrial Magnetism.
